About TodayGoldRate
TodayGoldRate is an independent website that shows live gold prices by karat, currency, country and Indian city, with calculators and plain-language guides that explain what you will actually pay or receive. We do not sell gold, take deposits or recommend investments.
What the site does
- Live prices. Rates on every price page come from live TradingView market data and are converted to grams, tola, sovereigns and other local units, and to each karat, using fixed published factors.
- Local context. Country and city pages explain how the local price is built: import duty, taxes, dealer premiums, making charges and local units.
- Calculators. Free tools for gold value, unit conversion, karat purity, Indian jewellery bills, zakat and scrap value. They run entirely in your browser.
- Guides. Explanations of hallmarks, purity, GST, import duty, making charges and selling gold.
Who runs it
The site is written, edited and maintained by todaygoldrate.org. We are not a bank, jeweller, broker, bullion dealer or financial adviser, and we have no commercial relationship with any jeweller or gold seller mentioned on the site.
Why it exists
Most people who search for the gold rate want two things: the current price for the purity and unit they use, and an honest explanation of why the shop price is different. Many rate pages give a number without saying where it came from. We show the source and the arithmetic so you can check it yourself.
How we work
- Every price is live from the market, never typed in by hand. Example figures in articles are clearly labelled as illustrative.
- Our conversion constants, data symbols and limitations are documented on the methodology page.
- Our standards for sourcing, review and corrections are on the editorial policy page.
- Prices are indicative. Read the disclaimer before relying on them for a transaction.
How the site is funded
The site does not currently carry advertising, affiliate links or paid placements. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are read, as described in the privacy policy. If that changes, advertising will be labelled and kept separate from editorial content, as set out in the editorial policy.
