Live prices via TradingView · Page reviewed

Content on TodayGoldRate is written, edited and reviewed by todaygoldrate.org to one standard: accurate, specific and useful to someone about to buy, sell or value gold. This page explains how we source facts, check them, keep them current and correct mistakes.

Sourcing

  • Prices are never written into articles as facts. They come only from the live TradingView widgets, as described in our methodology.
  • Rules and rates (duties, GST, hallmarking requirements) are based on official government and regulator publications, such as notifications from India's finance ministry, customs and GST authorities and the Bureau of Indian Standards.
  • Market structure (how benchmarks, exchanges and dealer pricing work) is based on information published by the bodies that run them.
  • Where official sources disagree, a rule is changing, or local practice varies, we say so rather than picking one answer.

Fact checks

  • Every worked example is recalculated before publication. Example prices are labelled illustrative.
  • Conversion constants and karat factors are taken from a single documented list and used consistently across pages and calculators.
  • If we are not confident a specific detail is accurate and durable, we leave it out or describe it in general terms.

Review and updates

Each page shows the date it was last reviewed. Pages are reviewed when a relevant rule changes (for example a change to Indian import duty or GST) and periodically otherwise. Live prices need no manual update.

Corrections

Readers can report errors via the contact page. We check each report against primary sources. Confirmed errors are corrected promptly; if a correction changes the meaning of a page, such as a wrong tax rate, we add a short note describing what changed.

Independence

  • We do not sell gold or financial products, and we have no commercial relationship with jewellers, dealers or buyers mentioned on the site.
  • We do not accept payment for links, reviews, rankings or coverage, and we do not publish sponsored content.
  • If advertising or affiliate links are ever introduced, they will be clearly labelled and will not influence editorial content.

Neutrality

We explain how gold prices work; we do not forecast prices or tell readers when to buy or sell. On religious questions such as zakat on personal jewellery, we describe the main views neutrally and refer readers to qualified scholars.
